RAS card from Ireland

Lately I had a really nice surprise in my mailbox: A RAS postcard – my first one ever which makes it a very special card for me! Thank you Katie for suggesting me.

I received a beautiful card from Ireland – I love the green colours. In real they even look brighter.

Ireland is on my list of countries which I want to visit someday. A colleague of mine was there twice because she loves this country.

Opole – Poland

Recently I got a beautiful multiview card from Opole.

From Ukraine

This is such a beautiful postcard!

Virginia – USA

Virginia – “The Old Dominion State”

The beautiful scenery in Virginia goes on for miles and miles and if you’re lucky you may see a tree frog to photograph.

Cantilevered staircase by George Eborall, West Wing

Another card came from Lipník nad Bečvou.

Novorossiisk – Russia

Novorossiisk, Hero City. Cargo Sea Terminal.

Penang – Malaysia

A beautiful postcard from my dear blog-pen-pal ilyani:

The sightseeing and shopping in Penang are activities that should not be missed. The largest reclining Buddha in Malaysia is found at the Wat Chayamangkalaram temple and measures 33 metres (top left) while pit vipers  dangle unperturbed on branches at the altars of the Snake Temple (bottom left). During the Festival of the Hungry Ghost, gigantic joss-sticks (top right) are burned to appease the gods and spirits. Curios, handicrafts or local delicacies can be found among the many shops on busy Campbell Road (bottom right).

Took some time

This card from Finland was sent to me on May, 21st. In the meantime I got a second card because the first did not arrive. And now it is here, I don’t know what happened to the card :?

This is a return card I got from Taiwan. This postcar is about “cups” (the producer told the sender’s friend that these are cups, not bowls). And the pictures on the cups present 12 aboriginals in Taiwan.

Poznań – Poland

… sent to me from Russia

Water Round Robin #142

I love the Water Round Robin. I got some of the most wonderful postcards through this RR. This time again there was no difference:

A wonderful postcard from my dear friend krhocevar showing Downtown Pittsburg – the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers meet there to form the mighty Ohio River.

A beautiful card from Köln sent to me by anjaaustel.

The third river – River Liffey in Dublin. this amazing postcard I received from fisherman.

Daarhon sent me a great view from The Altai Mountains.

Last but not least: Funny fishes from Woensel.

Here are the cards that I got through another round robin: They are sooo beautiful!

Singapore

SG-21423

Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is an island city-state located at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, lying 137 kilometres (85 mi) north of the equator, south of the Malaysian state of Johor and north of Indonesia’s Riau Islands. At 710.2 km2 (274.2 sq mi), Singapore is a microstate and the smallest nation in Southeast Asia. It is substantially larger than Monaco and Vatican City, the only other surviving sovereign city-states.

The English language name Singapore comes from Malay Singapura, “Lion-city”, but it is possible that one element of its name had a more distant original source. Pura comes from Sanskrit puram, “city, fortress”, and is related to Greek polis, “citadel, city”. Singa- comes from Sanskrit siṃha, which means lion. Today the city-state is referred to as the Lion City.
